I’ve looked at a lot of space photography in my time, and personally I think the Cassini-Huygens project has turned out the most amazing shots ever. Even more amazing than the Hubble.
I’ve been watching quite a few rss feeds for the occasional great shot, but I found The Source, the Cassini Imaging Central Laboroatory for OPerations, or CICLOPS. The really good stuff is found on their images page.
Today’s new image is the one I show there at the top. It’s called Worlds In Orbit, and shows three moons, the rings on edge, and on the surface of Saturn the shadows of the rings. Amazing.
