Many months ago we flung a space probe toward Saturn called Cassini-Huygens (named for two famous astronomer/mathemeticians).  This past Christmas Eve, they split apart and Cassini went to take pictures of Saturn’s rings, and Huygens started toward Titan (images here), the largest moon on our solar system.

Today at about 5 am EST, the Huygens probe began entering the atmosphere of Titan.  While life on Titan isn’t truly expected, it’s FAR more likely than on Mars.

As an astronomy geek, this is wildy exciting to me.
