I took my wife to see Casanova today, it really is an excellent date movie.  Heath Ledger plays Casanova, a great lover of women, and there were far more great actors in supporting roles than I expected to see.  I love Oliver Platt, he’s just hilarious.

It’s a comedy of errors, in great Shakespearean form.  Lies upon lies upon lies, with almost everyone almost getting caught.

There was no nudity, not even any swearing.  Despite the implication that Casanova has LOTS of sex, it’s a remarkably wholesome movie.  Also despite its humor and twisty plot, it does a good job of asking the question "what is love", and decides in the end that however fun one-night stands may be, long term monogamous love is better.
