MIT is making a new laptop targetted at children, specifically in developing countries. It has a built in hand crank for generating power, has a sturdy handle when folded closed, can be folded open so that the screen can be used as a TV, can be used as a tablet PC, has a power cord that doubles as a shoulder strap, and runs Linux.
For $100.
Man, that would make an AWESOME little Linux machine! And for only $100, that wouldn’t be a bad deal at all.
That design looks so much better that current flimsy laptop designs.
I’ll take 5….can I have them here by the end of next week? thanks 😛
