My dad went back to the hospital the day before Thanksgiving with lots of pain. As it turns out there was fluid buildup around his pancreas. On top of that, he had a fever.
They put him on antibiotics to kill whatever was making the fever, and scheduled a CAT scan. He’s allergic the the dye they use though, so for 24 hours ahead of time they gave him scheduled injections of anti-allergens.
They did the CAT scan last night at midnight, and had the results this morning. There was some fluid around his pancreas and also some in some fatty tissue. They think that perhaps during the original surgery they cut some blood vessels and a small area was cut off and died. The pain and fever were his body taking care of it properly.
So now he’s feeling much better and will go home tomorrow.
