There’s not much Halloween music that I like. Most albums are filled with songs like Monster Mash, which while fun don’t really do much for me.
I was very pleasantly surprised by Mannheim Steamroller’s Halloween Monster Mix album. There was a time when I loved everything Chip Davis made, but he has a very consistent sound, and I got a little tired of it. This album has a little of that sound, but a whole lot of other stuff too.
There’s a recurring theme called Enchanted Forest which is simply filled with night sounds in a forest, except it includes owl hoots and the occasional zombie moan and human scream.
It’s definitely not your typical Halloween album, and I highly recommend it. As always, you know where to find samples.
