My sister called me the other day and told me to go to npr’s web site to see some cool inventions. Apparently some MIT students are making things to help the military do their thing.

A guy named Nathan Ball made a 15 lb box (about the size of a 7.62 ammo box for those who care) that can pull 250lbs up a rope at nearly 10 feet per second. It has a 300 lb max. That’s just about right for a 230lb man and light combat gear.

Make it small enough to fit on a belt, and you have one of the quintesscential Bat Tools.
