Lately I’ve been reading books about how to run a freelance business, and one of them is called The 4 Hour Work Week. The author puts forth lots of ideas, but his main point is “stop working so hard, make work work for you, so you can play” where “play” is do what you really want to do with your life.

The book is all about how to streamline your business, to give you more time to do what you really want.

That’s when I realized I’m already doing what I really want. If I had all the money in the world, and my responsibilities were all taken care of, this is what I would be doing.

Best job in the world. Do you have the best job in the world?

  1. This is amazing. Right this very moment, I am struggling with the fact that I definitely do not have the best job in the world. I am seriously trying to figure out what exactly that would be for me, but I do know that career dissatisfaction is premium at the moment.

  2. Dude, we need to do lunch.. soon. Loved the 4-hour work week. Read Rich Dad Poor Dad yet?

I’m in my last week at Springthrough… moving on!

How funny that you have 2 comments on this post, and they’re both from Wise men?

  3. I do have the best job in the world, but there are no real shortcuts to success in this or any other field. What you get out of it is in direct proportion to the time and sweat you put into it, and nowhere is this more true than in the world of freelance.

Four hour work week? I’m old enough to know better and it sounds like pure laziness to me.

  4. I was doing the same thing while laid off that I am while working. I’m just getting paid for it now.
