This last weekend was Labor Day Weekend, and we played it up. Friday we went to my folks and watched baseball in the evening. Saturday we went to Harrisville to for Arts and Crafts show. I never cease to be amazed by the amount of artistic talent at that thing. There’s a reason the town population grows from 500 to 10,000 for the weekend. The crowds were big of course, but we weren’t there THAT long.

Sunday we went to my in-laws and played cards and talked and had a cook-out etc. Sunday evening my father-in-law went fishing, and that was the highlight of my weekend. It was a couple hours of quiet time on a small lake with almost no people in the quiet evening. I spent a lot of time that way in the summers when I was in college, and it’s one of my favorite ways to pass an evening. We almost got skunked, I caught one small sunfish, and Joe didn’t get anything. He was astounded, since several days before he and his wife caught 25 pounds of crappie in a couple hours on that lake. But I didn’t care. It was great.

Monday we came back and relaxed. A good time was had by all.
