Molly said something cute about this sculpture last summer, and I never managed to get a picture, so I didn’t blog it. Now I have one, and here we are.
I like getting artistic perspective from my kids, because they have so few pre-conceptions yet. We walked by this sculpture and I said “Hey Molly, what’s what?”
“A man with a zebra on his back!” she replied.
“Why a zebra?” I asked. “There aren’t any stripes.”
“Because horses have tails, and zebras don’t.” was her answer.
They do of course, but she’d never seen a zebra tail because they’re so small, and they keep them close. I think it’s interesting that age 6 she came to that conclusion.
