Since I already did a post about our clothes washer, I’ll simply request that you read it, but also elaborate a little.
In that post I mention that the new washer allows us to run the dryer 10 minutes less per load. My wife guesses she runs it about 8 times per week, which means we don’t run it approximately 78 extra hours each year. That saves both gas and electricity, thus lowering the amount of coal burned in our honor and the amount of gas we use. That’s on top of the 11,000 gallons of water we don’t use.
