Rob Costlow

I found Rob Costlow’s music on Magnatune about a year ago, and instantly loved it. I’ve always been a big fan of George Winston, and Rob’s music is everything George hopes to be. I’m sure Rob gets tired of being compared to George, but George is the famous one. If you love one, you’ll love the other.

Rob has two albums out at the moment, Woods of Chaos and Sophmore Jinx. Both are wonderful examples of good piano. He has a third coming out in June, and I’m really looking forward to it.

One of the things I love about Rob as an artist is his relationship with fans. His music is available on Magnatune for everyone to listen to and fall in love with. He keeps a personal blog obviously maintained by himself, and not a publicist. He has a website for information about his music and concerts. It all has a very open-source, transparent feel to it. He may even comment on this very post! You never know.

Hope you’ve enjoyed the music. It’s streaming from Magnatune, and you can try his other album there as well.

  1. Thanks for the review, Topher. I appreciate your thoughts.

Transparency is the way to go. We’re all human, so we should act like it. : )

BTW – My other career passion is the Internet. I’m getting ready to launch a new social network with a great team out of NYC. Hit me up in a week or two and I can share the name and address of the site (we’re still mostly under the radar at the moment).

    Thanks again,

    Rob

  2. I agree, Rob Costlow is awesome. I heard him on the DSC, and have enjoyed his music a ton. Many Many nights the ipod has been on repeat with Sophmore Jinx to lull the baby back to sleep.
