The loudest audio I ever experienced was a home entertainment system.
Back in The Day, before DVD’s, video-philes had big video discs, about the size of records.
This guy had one, and a surround sound system with speakers on towers in the corners of the room.
They said “the best experience for this is to watch Praxis explode”.
At the beginning of a Star Trek movie, Praxis, a moon belonging to the Klingons explodes.
So I lay down on the floor in front of the TV and laid my head against the coffee table and started to watch.
The credit rolled, music played, and then it got silent and we saw Praxis hanging in space.
When it exploded, my vision blurred.
They didn’t tell me the “coffee table” was the woofer.
