The other day we were at the farm market, and we got a half gallon of cider. Sophi wanted to carry it, so we let her. After just a few minutes she got pretty tired of it, and asked me to carry it. Later, as we were leaving, I was carrying the cider and a couple bags. Sophi was huddled inside her coat shivering. As we were walking toward the car she said
“Dad, do you want me to carry the cider?”
“Do you WANT to carry it?” I asked.
“No, I just wanted you to know I would if you needed me to.”
