The Electrics are a modern Irish music band, first and foremost. They remind me a great deal of Craic Wisely, or a less crunchy Flogging Molly. They’ve been around for a long time, relatively speaking, with their first album coming out in 1991. This self-titled album came out in 1997.
One of the things that constantly surprises me about them is that they’re
- A Christian band
- Very good
- Not Top 40 clones
If there’s another band that fits all three of those things, I don’t know of them. I know not everyone’s into Irish music, but for those that are, this is worth a listen whether you care about Christian music or not.
Anathallo fits the bill, plus they are a local band (Mt. Pleasant)
