The year Molly was born, I got a new grill for Father’s Day. It was a gas grill, and a decent one. Last summer was its last summer.
I’ve wanted a new grill this year, but didn’t want to spend the cash. I also didn’t know if I wanted gas or charcoal. Gas is cheap, clean and easy. Charcoal tastes better, and the grill is cheaper.
In the end, my wonderful wife found a deal at Meijer where an $80 charcoal grill was on sale for $50, AND, if you bought $25 worth of other grilling stuff (charcoal, sauces, etc) they’d take another $25 off the grill. So with the other sale stuff we got, the receipt said we spent $50 and saved $50. Good times.
Tonight I put it together and we had brats. Boy howdy, happy summertime.
Nearly EVERYTHING tastes better when cooked over charcoal. (ah the childhood memories of toasting marshmellows over the last embers of the fire.)
Mmmmm, boy, I had a grilled bratwurst last night too. Happy Memorial Day!
