Remember that kind of toy horse? There was one in my family for ten years or so when I was growing up. We rode that thing until the springs wore through and it collapsed in a heap.
The other day we were driving down the road and I looked to my left and saw a story walking down the sidewalk.
There was a man walking, and he had one hand held out behind him, and was holding up on leg of a horse like that one. On the back side there was a woman holding the opposite corner. I suspect they’d just purchased it at a garage sale.
Most importantly, the other back corner was being “held up” by a little girl of about four. She was walking along very purposefully, obviously in charge of those horse fetching venture.
What struck me is that in the 3 seconds I saw them I could tell almost completely what the story was. It’s a picture that will stay in my head for a long time.
You know Cate learned to ride on a horse just like that tooooo! You were made for each other. 🙂
we have one on the front porch right now.
Those are fun to ride!!!
