My wife has been a big fan of the Pink Panther movies for many years, but I only saw bits and pieces. So we recently started getting them from Netflix, and enjoying them muchly. The girls LOVE the cartoon panther, and Molly has shown real interest in watching the actual movies. So we used our free tickets to check it out, bravely taking both girls.
All in all, I think they did a great job of staying true to the Pink Panther line, while doing an original story. Steve Martin is always brilliant, but I had no idea going in that Kevin Kline was going to be in it as well. He’s awesome.
Jean Reno played a combined part of sidekick (Hercule) and friendly attacker (Cato). He did a really excellent job, his character was very likeable.
Molly LOVED the movie. Frequent shrieks of laughter. Everyone else was laughing too, so it’s not like it was annoying, but she had a blast. Sophi was kind of bored, but then she’s only 4.
All in all, it was fun, and moreso if you’re familiar with the originals.
Really? In the previews, Steve Martin was sickeningly annoying. I couldn’t imagine what that’d be like for the full movie.
