My kids are at Grandma’s at the moment, and when they’re up there I always call them every evening. This evening, as soon as my youngest got on the phone she said
“Dad, I know what I’m going to do when I’m 16!”
“What’s that?” I asked.
“Go to Disney Land!”
“Why wait until you’re 16?” I asked.
“Because I think that’s how long it’ll take me to save enough money to go. I’m going to save every penny until I have enough!”
I asked her why she thought she needed to save her own money to go, and she replied
“Well, I know we’re short on money while we’re looking for a car, and your doctor bills and all”.
When I told my wife this story she burst out laughing.
“That’s the best guilt trip I’ve heard in a long time!” she said.
Alas, my ailing body shall keep her from Disney until she’s 16.
Ah, the sweet innocence. Just tell her that’s what Grandma is for. 😉
The Disneyland nest egg. I love it! Disney World is closer, maybe she could save enough money by the time she is 14?
Better shape up and get healthy. Maybe start walking everywhere?
Her favorite “Uncle” Steve would contribute some coinage.
You know, there’s a hospital (“down in Celebration, Florida”) very near Disney World. Florida really has something for all ages. =)
Topher,
We live about 1 hour from Disney World and have a small guest house you and your klan can use…. (kind of an effic. apt.) But would love to offer it to you and yours. Let us know when.
Hey Charles,
Does that go for Topher’s cousin as well?
Kids soooo funny!!♥
Love ,
Cousin Sandi
