In an earlier post, I mentioned that I officially don’t like WYSE terminals. I should clarify that I don’t like our specific implementation of them.
We had a bank of them all using the same username and passwd to login with. This means that they all used the same cache and cookie pool, and made things a LOT harder for me. We also had them all running 800×600 on some pretty old 15" CRTs, which was also quite rough.
The next time we do this, I’m going to work to have unique logins per station, and see if we can bump up the resolution and things should be much better.
If you’re using Firefox, which I presume you are, you can set up multiple profiles under the same login. That way each profile gets its own cookies, etc. See http://blog.dojotoolkit.org/2005/12/01/running-multiple-versions-of-firefox-side-by-side for details of how to do it
