I played Alto sax for 7 years – and except for Jazz band, we almost always got the crummy parts. For “Louie, Louie!” (which we played constantly), the altos had, save the final note (a D) we had three notes through the entire song – A, B, and C. Sometimes I would get so bored I would revert to my jazz mentality and just start improvising. OTOH, you could look at the altos as the cream filling between the screeching piccolos and the bonehead tubas.
Hilarious! I relate to his feelings!
Has anyone done a routine on hating saxophones?
At least he doesn’t play bass!
